Independent AMSOIL Dealer

Frequently asked questions

How to order AMSOIL from me, how quotes and accounts work, and where to find AMSOIL’s answers on choosing and using oil.

How do I order AMSOIL products from you?

Three ways: order anytime in my online store; use the Request a Quote page if you want me to put an order together for you; or call or email me directly. The How to Buy page walks through each option.

How does a quote request work?

Fill out the Request a Quote form with what you need (vehicle or equipment, products, quantities). I review it and reply to you privately by email.

What payment methods do you accept?

For quote, phone and email orders, I accept all major credit cards and popular online payment apps. Orders through the online store are paid at checkout.

What is the AMSOIL Preferred Customer program?

It is AMSOIL’s paid membership program for customers who buy regularly. See my Preferred Customer page and AMSOIL’s Preferred Customer page for current details and terms.

Do you set up commercial or fleet accounts?

Yes. Businesses, farms and fleets can open an AMSOIL commercial account. Start on the Commercial & Fleet page or the AMSOIL commercial account application, and contact me with any questions.

Which AMSOIL oil fits my vehicle or equipment?

Use AMSOIL’s official lookup or the AMSOIL product guides for equipment. Pick the viscosity and specification your owner’s manual calls for. If you are unsure, send me the year, make, model and engine and I will help.

How are AMSOIL motor oil lines different?

See the AMSOIL Motor Oil Lines FAQ, which covers Signature Series, Extended-Life, OE, High-Mileage, Hybrid and Synthetic-Blend in AMSOIL’s own words.

Where do orders ship from?

Orders ship from AMSOIL.

Where do you sell?

I sell to customers in all 50 U.S. states. Customers in Canada can order through the AMSOIL online store.

Will using AMSOIL void my vehicle warranty?

AMSOIL says its products are “Warranty Secure, keeping your factory warranty intact,” and that “Manufacturers can’t deny warranty coverage without showing the aftermarket part or lubricant caused a failure.” Read AMSOIL’s warranty page for full details and the AMSOIL Limited Warranty.

Can I extend my oil drain intervals?

AMSOIL says “Many AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are specially formulated for extended drain intervals” and to “Check the product data sheet for specific recommendations.” Follow the interval and conditions stated for your specific product, along with your warranty requirements. The oil change interval tracker can help you keep records.

Is synthetic oil safe for older or high-mileage engines?

AMSOIL says “Synthetic oil is perfectly safe for use in both new and high-mileage engines” and that “Synthetic oils do not cause engines to leak oil.” If an engine already has a worn seal, AMSOIL recommends fixing it first. See Synthetic vs. Conventional Oil and AMSOIL’s FAQ.

What do viscosity numbers like 5W-30 mean?

See Motor Oil Viscosity Explained and How to Read an Oil Bottle Label.

Do I need a new filter with my oil change?

AMSOIL recommends installing an AMSOIL Oil Filter at every oil change when switching to AMSOIL synthetic motor oil. For more on oil, air, fuel and cabin filters, see Filter Basics.
