Which AMSOIL 2-stroke oil: SABER, INTERCEPTOR, DOMINATOR or Injector Oil

Four AMSOIL 2-stroke oils, four different jobs. Here’s how AMSOIL positions each one so you can match it to your equipment.

Two-stroke engines burn their oil with the fuel, either premixed in the tank or metered by an oil-injection system. The right oil depends on the engine, how it is fed, and what the manufacturer specifies. Always follow your manual for the oil standard and mix ratio, and use the 2-stroke mix calculator for premix amounts.

Outboard owners should also check whether the motor requires an oil meeting a marine certification; AMSOIL lists marine-specific 2-stroke oils in the lookup as well.

How to choose

  1. Check the manual for the required oil standard (for example JASO or ISO grades) and the ratio.
  2. Note how oil is delivered: premix or injection.
  3. Match the equipment type: handheld, snowmobile, outboard or racing.
  4. Consider the cold: injection oils need to flow at the lowest temperature you ride.
  5. Use the lookup for your specific machine.
  6. Mix fresh fuel and measure accurately.
  7. Do not mix brands in an injection tank unless you know they are compatible.
